Some days, caring is painful. Look at the news of the world! Do you want to hide your head, like an ostrich in the sand? I do. I see my loved ones struggle. Nothing I say or do brings relief. I’m tempted to harden my heart and stop caring so much. Can you relate? Jesus warned there would be days like this!
But she who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:12, NIV).
LORD, please don’t let our hearts grow cold. Breathe hope and compassion into our being. Caring is painful, but You help us carry on. We can do something to remove a burden or restore another’s courage. Don’t let us give up!
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10, NIV).
This weekend, temperatures in Florida will drop. The COLD has been with us for over a week. Could it snow? Unlikely! I will bundle up and enjoy these crisp winter days.
The sun begins to melt the ice and bring its warmth onto my face. O LORD, will you melt my heart of ice and restore my compassion?
Nothing is impossible with God. He breathes life into the hardest of hearts. Let’s seek His help and stand strong, hearts warm with love.

That is true,Barb, but I also think God want us to bring our hearts to Him even when they are cold, angry, or doubting. We don’t need to hide from Him He already knows. When we are honest, He is able to change us…I know how much I need that!
