Serving Goodness

Every morning, I scoop the chocolate and stir it until it is well blended.

Jeff loves his mocha drink. We used to buy it from Starbucks. A few years ago, when my son, Quinn, worked there, we bought an espresso machine.

Patiently, Quinn taught me to use the machine. I grind the beans, tamp down the coffee, twist the wand into the side that drips, and let the savory, brown espresso fill two shot glasses. I repeat this four times, then steam half and half until it is just right. Scoop in some sugar and dark chocolate cocoa, heat it a bit more and top with whip cream. Ready!

Jeff says he enjoys my coffee more than the ones from Starbucks. It takes a bit of time and mess, but I’m happy I can bless him with a simple warm treat every day.

I give thanks for the coffee machine and the chocolate I mix just right. I’m thankful that God provides simple ways I can serve my loved ones.

Chocolate is tasty, but love endures. How can you serve your loved ones today?
