Worship from Both Sides

Cozy homes, guitars, and songs,

Joining voices all night long,

Hearts of worship singing strong,

I’ve worshipped God that way.

•••

Holding a bass with anxious hand,

Up on the stage, one of the band,

Eyes strain toward the music stand,

I’ve worshipped God that way.

•••

But fog machines and techie things,

Keep me distracted from my King,

I worship better in between,

Alone with God, I sing.

I’ve worshipped God from both sides now,

From pain and joy and still somehow,

My view is hindered by the fall.

I really don’t know worship at all.
