“Waiting for a fish to bite
Or waiting for wind to fly a kite
Or waiting around for Friday night…
Everyone is just waiting.”
(Dr. Seuss, Oh the Places You Will Go)
I hate to wait! I know, I know. God is doing good things in His perfect timing. He’s using these things to make me better. It sure doesn’t feel like fun, though!
Who has learned that waiting on God’s timing is best? Who actually delights in trusting Him in the gap? Do you know how to peacefully watch and see what He will do? Teach me! I’m not there yet!
I don’t mind waiting for a pot to boil or a doctor to call us back. I’m fine waiting for the weekend or a special visit with a friend. The waiting that truly tries me is trusting God’s answer to my deepest prayers.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
The LORD is always at work. He is always right on time. When I submit to His timetable, He is teaching and stretching me. He will do more than answer my prayer. He uses the wait time to make us more like Jesus.

I guess, after all, we can embrace the wait. If we feel impatient, that probably means He has some very important work in us, and He’s not done yet.
God will respond with perfect timing. He is never late!
“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD” (Psalm 27:14).
Amen!
waiting can indeed be very hard. But if we truly understand what we are waiting for, it makes it easier. 🙂
YES & AMEN!!

“Who has learned that waiting on God’s timing is best?” — I have, and I learned it the hard way.
