Every Phase

In every phase You shine…

When the moon wanes thin and the night grows black, the sun yet continues to shine.

When my mood turns dark, and my love waxes cold, God’s light is as bright midday sun.

Through every week, behind the earth’s shadow, the life-bringing light is substantial in power.

Though I fail many times and my love starts to languish, He is faithful forever; He cannot stop caring.

If I look very carefully, I can still see the shape of the whole moon still there before me.

If I stumble or falter, His light sets me back. Jesus places my feet right onto the path.

In every phase of my up-and-down life, You shine, Jesus, shine and restore me to light.

Jesus, Light of the World, please shine into our darkness. In every phase of our changeable lives, sustain us with Your light and Your love.
