Let me brag on God for just a couple of minutes…well, five minutes seems about right! “Let her who boasts boast in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:31, NIV).
When my homeschool kiddos graduated from needing me, I asked God, “What’s next?” I hoped I wouldn’t go back into full-time teaching, but He had other plans for this mama-teacher.
Every week, small groups of homeschool students come to me. We talk about literature and share writing. I actually get paid for this delightful activity. Their parents even get reimbursed with a scholarship! All of this comes from God’s hand.

One of our main rules is respect. Students in my Scholé classroom are learning to build one another up. Their words guide friends to communicate better. They do this in a Christ-focused way.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen” (Ephesians 4:29, NIV).
What a wonderful God we follow! When I had a need, I asked Him what to do. He provided the inspiration and means to bring my vision to reality.
Every time my students share helpful words with one another, their presence blesses my household. Serving these families is a privilege I don’t take for granted.
Today I give thanks for my God who does above and beyond what I imagine. I encourage you to submit your plans to Him as I have. May He bring you new blessings and benefits as you follow after Him. May His everlasting love be your portion. He is good to all!
“Praise the LORD, O my soul and forget not His benefits” (Psalm 103:2, NIV).
i love that you found a way to continue being part of the homeschool community. well done.
So great and encouraging to hear how the Lord works! It sounds like you’re teaching some wonderful classes. Classical education?
I’m eclectic with a little flavor of classical. I never could fully commit to one homeschool philosophy, but my tutoring services, Scholé, center on conversations about what is good, beautiful, and true. The classical educators do the same.
