Second

CS Lewis wrote about the “eternal now.” Thoughts of the past and the future cause us to miss the precious moment God wants us to focus on. Every second is an opportunity to walk in faith:

Seize the day…moments quickly pass.

Echoes of yesterdays gone,

Cares cast upon God drag down no more,

Only He knows tomorrow.

No traveling in time.

Dare to delight in this Day!

  1. Amen. “Every second is an opportunity to walk in faith.” This week we have seen the fragility of life–we don’t know how much time we have.

  2. Carpe diem, seize the day!
    Carpe canem, seize the dog;
sometimes I really like to play
when pain has got me in a fog,
and here are many dogs to seize.
Honey just tried to take my phone
and skitter off between my knees,
but she really should have known
that as a German Shepherd, large,
    she just wasn’t gonna fit,
and to show her I’m in charge,
    I decided I would sit
upon her head and shoulder rack
    till she gave Motorola back.
