Providing Christ-centered learning support to families in the Gulf Breeze and Navarre communities.

You are wonderfully equipped to educate your children. No one knows them better than their parents. You understand their strengths, struggles, and interests. You have already been teaching them since they entered the world! No professional educator has a higher motivation to help your children grow than you do. Maybe you would like a little guidance along the way as your family engages in the adventure of homeschooling.

What is Scholé? This Greek word represents a powerful, sometimes elusive aspect of education. Slowing down, reflecting, and having meaningful conversations helps us appreciate our world’s Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. Developing a scholé focus helps our students learn the practices of contemplation and friendship. Together, we foster lifelong learners.

What is Christ-centered learning? My own decision to homeschool flowed from my call to share faith in Christ with my children. Deuteronomy 6:4-7 encouraged me to live a faith lifestyle with my four children. We were able to talk about Jesus in our home, as we walked along the road, at any time of day. I couldn’t have done this very well if we were separated from each other all day. I also challenge my students with Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Your children are safe expressing their faith with me. I love to hear about what God is teaching them. If the occasion arises, we might pray together.

Small Group Tutoring: Students find motivation and encouragement by learning with their peers. I teach students to build one another up with positive feedback. Signing your student up for small group learning is an affordable choice. The price for groups of 4-6 students is $15 per hour. For groups of 7-12 students, the price is $10 per hour. The value is more than financial. Your student gains communication skills, confidence, and perspective while learning with friends.

Individualized Tutoring: I will work with you and your child to address areas of challenge. I can provide an invoice for Garner’s scholarship students. My in-person tutoring fee is $40 per hour and I am willing to share that time between 2 siblings if this helps to meet your family’s needs. Areas of strength for me include math through Geometry, literacy, and writing at all levels. I will give your student homework to reinforce our learning in between meetings.

Consultations: I enjoy bringing my 8 years in the classroom, my 16 years as a homeschool mama, and my 11 years as a homeschool evaluator to our conversations. I am here to listen, provide perspective, and help you discover what is going right in your homeschool adventure. I hope our conversation will bring hope and enthusiasm into your heart as you remember why you are undertaking this important work.

Evaluations: Your school district wants me to verify that your child is “demonstrating progress at a level commensurate to his/her ability.” I hope to do more than that during our meeting. Evaluations are times for your children to share what they learned. Do they have writing? Projects? Music? I love to celebrate their accomplishments. Are they struggling? I am here to encourage them and help you both discover new strategies. Do you have questions about curriculum choices? I will share the tools I and other families have found useful. My goal is to encourage and equip you and your children while satisfying the school district’s simple requirements.

Payment Policy: I require payment in advance for a month of tutoring sessions. If you cancel, I can catch your student up, but I do not provide a refund. If I have to cancel, I will give you a discount next month to compensate for the missed session. In group sessions, we may occasionally make use of Zoom if students are contagious but well enough to learn. I accept PayPal, checks, or cash.

Homeschooling is an adventure in learning! Let me help you embrace the journey with joy and confidence. As we learn with our children, we teach them to be curious, creative, and resourceful.
